Craving Sweets After Meals

Craving Sweets.png

Did you know that craving sweets after meals can be a sign that your meal was unbalanced(1)? Usually, too many carbs and not enough fat or sufficient protein.

We should feel satisfied after we eat our meals. Feeling the need for a treat after dinner can be a sign that your meal was unbalanced in the amount of carbs, protein, and fat it contained(1).

Think of carbs, protein, and fat as dials you adjust until you reach satisfaction and satiety. If you find yourself constantly reaching for something sweet after meals or just feeling like something was “missing,” try switching things up by adding more fat and sufficient protein to create a more satisfying experience after you eat.
